My Family Cultural
I would bring my flash drive, iphone, and MacBook. I would bring each of these items because of the photos I have stored on all three devices. My photos are very valuable to me and I download photos regularly to all of the mentioned items. I would choose my MacBook if I could only keep one item. I would be unhappy and possibly resentful for having to keep only one personal item. One insight this exercise has made me realize is that I am not attached to many material items. I have very little family cultural. My language, personal experiences, and relationships have cultural meaning to me that I retain internally. This exercise is an eye opener on how complacent I am with my existence and how I uncomfortable I can become if my circumstance.

Hi Dana, when you mentioned that you would bring your phone, I wondered why I didn't list that on my own blog! Why would you decide on your MacBook out of the three items if you can only choose one?
ReplyDeleteMy MacBook has ALL of my data and photos. I record receipts, business and personal records, music, movies, photos, EVERTHING is on the Mac!! :)
DeleteI never thought about taking technology, I like this idea and I wish I thought of it. Maybe in the host country you can gain new experiences and memories without the use of technology.
ReplyDeleteGeorgiana, I am a "tech girl". I store everything on my MacBook. I am a very adaptable person and could almost adjust to anything.
DeleteThese are good items, and pictures are a treasure. If we misplace special pictures we could not get them back. Technology would have never come to my mind, but I guess with the pictures is what makes it special.
